Campaign Diaries - Greater Accra Region

September 08, 2018

Team Betty concluded the tour of the Greater Accra Region by visiting Krowor, Ledzokuku, Ningo-Prampram, Ablekuma Central, Amasaman, Shai Osudoku and Klottey Kottey Constituencies.

After visiting each one of the 34 constituencies in the Greater Accra Region, I am fully aware and reminded of the challenges our constituency and branch executives face in their service to our party in the urban and peri-urban areas of Accra. Highly populated urbanised constituencies face a different set of challenges in reaching out to their members than those in the rural environment.  These challenges still require empowerent of our youth and women to enable them fully participate in party activities. Issues facing student activism and organisation were addressed.

My message of Accessible Leadership has been widely endorsed by the majority of constituencies so far visited. The call is for a Leadership that would give power to our branches and their membership. The need for a leadership that is responsive to the challenges of the party with a experienced visionary leader at the helm of events is compelling.

The 4,762 branches in the Greater Accra Region are the catalyst of our electoral success in Greater Accra. We must increase our parliamentary seats and maintain the 12 seats we have. I promise to provide a Leadership that will make the branches and 34 constituencies in Greater Accra  stronger for electoral success in 2020. We must remember that Greater Accra are  traditionally loyal to NDC despite the varying geopolitics in a capital city.

I appreciate the host of excellent comments, suggestions,  queries and prayers and I am convinced that we shall make history and march on to victory.

Vote for Accessible Leadership,
Vote Betty Mould Iddrisu for National Chairman

Campaign Diaries - GAR Pt 1 ends

September 7, 2018 Day 2 The team visited the Ada, Sege and Tema Central constituencies on Day 2 of the campaign tour of the Greater Accra region. The reception was resoundingly overwhelming and the interaction lively. The constituency executives made known their expections of the next Leadership of our dear party and expressed confidence in my ability to provide that kind of Leadership. I presented my campaign message and touched on the core values of the NDC. I spoke about the need to be united for victory 2020 in order to save Ghanaians from the economic hardship imposed on them by the NPP government. The general feeling was that the party must do all it can to return to power in 2020 but the executives were unanimous in their caution that we must and should NOT do the same old things. Their sentiments were genuine and their commitment to see the NDC in power again, visible. I promised to work hand in hand with them to bring the paradigm shift. One word that caught everyo...
Address the gaps in Ghana's justice delivery - Betty Mould Iddrisu Betty Mould Iddrisu, former Attorney General A former Attorney General, Mrs Betty-mould Iddrisu, has bemoaned the inequalities that blight the pursuance of justice in Ghana. "Without justice being seen to be done; without a reduction in the anomalies we have seen in the administration of justice, justice cannot be effectively served," she said. She made this observation during the launch of the Court Users Committee (CUC) on Friday at the Hospitality Centre, Tema, by the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA). In a keynote address, Mrs. Iddrisu said: "there still exists a distinctive gap between the effective delivery of justice to ordinary people and the disadvantaged, and that was worrying." She pleaded with the judiciary to look at the several issues that affected the ordinary man, adding that, "Some of the issues are resource based, but others are everyday issues tha...
