Campaign Diaries - Western Region

September 12, 2018

Day 1 & 2

Team Betty begun the campaign tour of the Western Region by visiting Wassa East, Shama, Kwesimintin, Effia and Takoradi Constituencies on Day 1.

On Day 2, my team and I visited Essikado, Mpohor, Ahanta West, Jomoro, Evalue-Gwira and Ellembelle constituencies to fraternize with the constituency executives and bring the Accessible Leadership to their doorsteps.

The tour of these constituencies which are situated in the oil enclave  of the Western region gave me better perspectives of the challenges our constituencies and branch executives face in their service to our party in these areas of the Western region.

My message of Accessible Leadership has been widely endorsed by the majority of these constituencies so far visited. The call for a Leadership that would give power to our branches and their membership is even more clearer and louder. The Party needs to recognise and appreciate the selfless unriring efforts of our executives who are always on the move sacrificing their livelihoods to serve the party with little or no reward.

The issues of women and youth empowerment as well as mobilizing and supporting our zongos remain cardinal to our quest for victory in 2020.  To address this, the need for a leadership that is responsive to the challenges of the party with an experienced visionary leader at the helm becomes even more compelling.

We all agreed on the need to safeguard our parliamentary seats in the enclave and recaprure our lost seats in the Western region. A motivated and relevant grassroot therefore is required to make this possible. The branches must be strengthened and made effective to drive our efforts towards electoral victory.

I appreciate the host of excellent comments, suggestions,  queries and prayers and I am convinced that we shall make history and march on to victory.

Vote for Accessible Leadership,
Vote Betty Mould Iddrisu for National Chairman

Campaign Diaries - GAR Pt 1 ends

September 7, 2018 Day 2 The team visited the Ada, Sege and Tema Central constituencies on Day 2 of the campaign tour of the Greater Accra region. The reception was resoundingly overwhelming and the interaction lively. The constituency executives made known their expections of the next Leadership of our dear party and expressed confidence in my ability to provide that kind of Leadership. I presented my campaign message and touched on the core values of the NDC. I spoke about the need to be united for victory 2020 in order to save Ghanaians from the economic hardship imposed on them by the NPP government. The general feeling was that the party must do all it can to return to power in 2020 but the executives were unanimous in their caution that we must and should NOT do the same old things. Their sentiments were genuine and their commitment to see the NDC in power again, visible. I promised to work hand in hand with them to bring the paradigm shift. One word that caught everyo...
Address the gaps in Ghana's justice delivery - Betty Mould Iddrisu Betty Mould Iddrisu, former Attorney General A former Attorney General, Mrs Betty-mould Iddrisu, has bemoaned the inequalities that blight the pursuance of justice in Ghana. "Without justice being seen to be done; without a reduction in the anomalies we have seen in the administration of justice, justice cannot be effectively served," she said. She made this observation during the launch of the Court Users Committee (CUC) on Friday at the Hospitality Centre, Tema, by the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA). In a keynote address, Mrs. Iddrisu said: "there still exists a distinctive gap between the effective delivery of justice to ordinary people and the disadvantaged, and that was worrying." She pleaded with the judiciary to look at the several issues that affected the ordinary man, adding that, "Some of the issues are resource based, but others are everyday issues tha...
