Campaign Diaries - Eastern Region

October 30, 2018

Day 3, 4 and 5

Team Betty visited Afram Plains North, Abetifi, Mpraeso, Nkawkaw, Abirem and Ofoase-Ayirebi constituencies on Day 3 of the Campaign tour of the Eastern Region.

On Day 4, we visited Akim Oda, Akim Swedru, Achiase, Asene Manso Akroso, Akwatia, Ayensuano and Yilo Krobo Constituencies.

My team and I finally visted Asuagyaman,  Lower Manya Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, Okere, Akropong and Akuapem South on the final day of our campaign tour of the Eastern Region.

We were amazed that party executives were energized and working round the clock to keep the NDC spirit alive in hostile and inhospitable environment of traditional NPP strongholds. The situation where constituency executives travel over 12hours by canoe in order to meet their branches, emphasizes the need to put measures in place to motivate the constituency and branch executives for victory in 2020.

My message of Accessible Leadershiphas been well received by delegates in the constituencies so far visited. I was also struck by the comparatively higher number of women in executive leadership in Eastern Region. However, I encouraged us to keep up the search for more positions. We also agreed that an empowered youth and women wing was critical for the the long term success of the NDC. This falls into the strategic Leadership I would provide when elected Chairman of our party.

I appreciate the host of excellent comments, suggestions, queries and prayers and I am convinced that we shall make history and march on to victory in 2020.

Vote Accessible Leadership,
Vote Betty Mould Iddrisu for National Chairman

Campaign Diaries - GAR Pt 1 ends

September 7, 2018 Day 2 The team visited the Ada, Sege and Tema Central constituencies on Day 2 of the campaign tour of the Greater Accra region. The reception was resoundingly overwhelming and the interaction lively. The constituency executives made known their expections of the next Leadership of our dear party and expressed confidence in my ability to provide that kind of Leadership. I presented my campaign message and touched on the core values of the NDC. I spoke about the need to be united for victory 2020 in order to save Ghanaians from the economic hardship imposed on them by the NPP government. The general feeling was that the party must do all it can to return to power in 2020 but the executives were unanimous in their caution that we must and should NOT do the same old things. Their sentiments were genuine and their commitment to see the NDC in power again, visible. I promised to work hand in hand with them to bring the paradigm shift. One word that caught everyo...
Address the gaps in Ghana's justice delivery - Betty Mould Iddrisu Betty Mould Iddrisu, former Attorney General A former Attorney General, Mrs Betty-mould Iddrisu, has bemoaned the inequalities that blight the pursuance of justice in Ghana. "Without justice being seen to be done; without a reduction in the anomalies we have seen in the administration of justice, justice cannot be effectively served," she said. She made this observation during the launch of the Court Users Committee (CUC) on Friday at the Hospitality Centre, Tema, by the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA). In a keynote address, Mrs. Iddrisu said: "there still exists a distinctive gap between the effective delivery of justice to ordinary people and the disadvantaged, and that was worrying." She pleaded with the judiciary to look at the several issues that affected the ordinary man, adding that, "Some of the issues are resource based, but others are everyday issues tha...
Campaign Diaries - Ashanti Region November 3, 2018 Day 1 & 2 My team and I began our campaign tour of the Ashanti Region by visiting Ejura-Sekyedomase, Mampong, Nsuta Kwamang, Afigya Sekyere East, Kwabre East and Old Tafo Constituencies. On Day 2, Team Betty visited Sekyere Afram Plains, Kumawu, Effiduase Asokore, Juaben, Ejisu and Oforikrom constituencies. We first paid a courtesy call on the Regional Executives and presented my message on the five thematic areas and the need for a paradigm shift to ensure victory in 2020. It was refreshing to be in my own home region where I have been doing my politics since 1992. The warm reception that greeted my visits to these constituencies means my sacrifices and efforts towards the development of the NDC in the region has not gone unnoticed. In the traditional stronghold of the NPP, the hostilities towards NDC members means the regional and constituency executives have very glaring challenges in making the branches work. ...
