September 16, 2018

Day 3 & 4

Day 3 of Team Betty's campaign  tour of the Western Region saw myself and my team visit Tarkwa Nsuaem, Prestea Huni Valley, Amenfi East, Amenfi West and Amenfi Central Constituencies.

Aowin, Suaman, Akotombra, Bodi and Juaboso constituencies hosted team Betty on Day 4 of the campaign tour.

In Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency, I met the only organizer who is a woman in the Western Region. It was heartwarmingly refreshing to see a woman achieve such remarkable heights. This is yet another remarkable feat in our quest for the empower the women and youth in our party.

An empowered youth and womem front is very necessary to propel the party to victory in 2020. There should be a pragmatic paradigm shift in the party's effort to empower our youth, women and the zongos. When elected as National Chairman, I pledge to provide the needed Leadership to make the NDC attractive to the youth who comprises of mainly the first time voters.
It is important to recognise the selfless
Roles played by party executives in these constituencies most of which operate in the most vulnerable communities in the Western Region. Their dedication has enabled the party to succeed, despite all odds, in maintaining their hold on the constituencies. More needs to be done to recover those seats we lost in 2016.

We also identified the need for a contemporary party with modern communication tools. Our communication structure needs strategic direction and attention to ensure that the party's policies and programmes are communicated to the grassroots. My term of office as National chairman will see a motivated, resourced and well equiped communication structure for the party.

I appreciate the host of excellent comments, suggestions,  queries and prayers and I am convinced that we shall make history and march on to victory.

Vote for Accessible Leadership,
Vote Betty Mould Iddrisu for National Chairman

Campaign Diaries - GAR Pt 1 ends

September 7, 2018 Day 2 The team visited the Ada, Sege and Tema Central constituencies on Day 2 of the campaign tour of the Greater Accra region. The reception was resoundingly overwhelming and the interaction lively. The constituency executives made known their expections of the next Leadership of our dear party and expressed confidence in my ability to provide that kind of Leadership. I presented my campaign message and touched on the core values of the NDC. I spoke about the need to be united for victory 2020 in order to save Ghanaians from the economic hardship imposed on them by the NPP government. The general feeling was that the party must do all it can to return to power in 2020 but the executives were unanimous in their caution that we must and should NOT do the same old things. Their sentiments were genuine and their commitment to see the NDC in power again, visible. I promised to work hand in hand with them to bring the paradigm shift. One word that caught everyo...
Address the gaps in Ghana's justice delivery - Betty Mould Iddrisu Betty Mould Iddrisu, former Attorney General A former Attorney General, Mrs Betty-mould Iddrisu, has bemoaned the inequalities that blight the pursuance of justice in Ghana. "Without justice being seen to be done; without a reduction in the anomalies we have seen in the administration of justice, justice cannot be effectively served," she said. She made this observation during the launch of the Court Users Committee (CUC) on Friday at the Hospitality Centre, Tema, by the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA). In a keynote address, Mrs. Iddrisu said: "there still exists a distinctive gap between the effective delivery of justice to ordinary people and the disadvantaged, and that was worrying." She pleaded with the judiciary to look at the several issues that affected the ordinary man, adding that, "Some of the issues are resource based, but others are everyday issues tha...
