Campaign Diaries - Eastern Region

September 28, 2018

Day 1 & 2

Team Betty visited Upper West Akim, Lower West Akim and Nsawam Adoagyiri constituencies on Day 1 of the Campaign tour of the Eastern Region.

On Day 2, my team and I visited New Juaben South, New Juaben North, Abuakwa South, Abuakwa North, Fanteakwa North, Fanteakwa South, Atiwa West and Atiwa East constituencies.

I delivered my message on the five thematic areas which are: Accessible Leadership; United front for 2020; A motivated and Relevant Grassroot; Women, youth and Zongo empowerment and Making the Party Contemporary with ICT tools.

The constituency executives agreed with me on the need to put the right measures in place to ensure that in the foreseeable future each constituency owns a party office. This however requires strategic Leadership and direction which I will bring on board.

The constituency executives in the constituencies without sitting MPs bemoaned the lack of resources since they are 'orphan' constituencies. I intend to provide the Leadership that would assess the needs and challenges of all the almost 30,000 branches in the country and put measures in place to address them.

The need to jealously guard the parliamentary seats we have in the Eastern Region was very much on the table as there have been machinations by the government to unseat our MPs. This will not happen under my Leadership as National Chairman. The NDC will win a Parliamentary majority and the Preside ntial election in 2020 with me as the Chairman.

The interactions with the constituency executives were cordial and lively. At New Juaben North, the title BETTY MOULD YAA ASANTEWAA was 'officially' conferred on me.

I appreciate the host of excellent comments, suggestions, queries and prayers and I am convinced that we shall make history and march on to victory in 2020.

Vote Accessible Leadership,
Vote Betty Mould Iddrisu for National Chairman

Campaign Diaries - GAR Pt 1 ends

September 7, 2018 Day 2 The team visited the Ada, Sege and Tema Central constituencies on Day 2 of the campaign tour of the Greater Accra region. The reception was resoundingly overwhelming and the interaction lively. The constituency executives made known their expections of the next Leadership of our dear party and expressed confidence in my ability to provide that kind of Leadership. I presented my campaign message and touched on the core values of the NDC. I spoke about the need to be united for victory 2020 in order to save Ghanaians from the economic hardship imposed on them by the NPP government. The general feeling was that the party must do all it can to return to power in 2020 but the executives were unanimous in their caution that we must and should NOT do the same old things. Their sentiments were genuine and their commitment to see the NDC in power again, visible. I promised to work hand in hand with them to bring the paradigm shift. One word that caught everyo...
Address the gaps in Ghana's justice delivery - Betty Mould Iddrisu Betty Mould Iddrisu, former Attorney General A former Attorney General, Mrs Betty-mould Iddrisu, has bemoaned the inequalities that blight the pursuance of justice in Ghana. "Without justice being seen to be done; without a reduction in the anomalies we have seen in the administration of justice, justice cannot be effectively served," she said. She made this observation during the launch of the Court Users Committee (CUC) on Friday at the Hospitality Centre, Tema, by the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA). In a keynote address, Mrs. Iddrisu said: "there still exists a distinctive gap between the effective delivery of justice to ordinary people and the disadvantaged, and that was worrying." She pleaded with the judiciary to look at the several issues that affected the ordinary man, adding that, "Some of the issues are resource based, but others are everyday issues tha...
