Campaign Diaries - Volta Region October 20, 2018 Day 1 & 2 My team and I began our campaign tour of the Volta Region by first paying a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Executives. We then visited Agotime Ziope, Adaklu and Ho Central constituencies on Day 1 of the tour. On Day 2 of the campaign tour, we visited South Dayi, North Dayi, Kpando, Biakoye, Krachi East and Krachi West constituencies.  The tour of the constituencies in our traditional "world bank" gave me better perpectives of the challenges our constituency executives face in accessing their branches. Our bane therefore as a party has been how to motivate the grassroots and make them relevant in the party. As National Chairman, I pledge to provide the leadership that would give birth to a motivated and relevant grassroot of the party. I remain committed to a Leadership that would remain Accessible to the party members regardless of their background, a Leadership that would make the party contemp...
Campaign Diaries - Western Region September 16 Day 5 Team Betty visited Sefwi Wiawso, Bia West, Bia East and Bibiani-Anwiaso-Bekwai on the final day of the campaign tour of the West Region. We negotiated some of the worst roads in the forest areas of the Western region and have experienced first hand the challenges the executives go through in accessing their branches. We all agreed that the NDC could not do the same things and expect different results and so there was a pressing need for a dynamic and strategic Leadership. A leadership that would unite our ranks, a leadership that knows, appreciates and will confront the challenges of the grassroots and a Leadership that would be Accessible to the party at all times. My commitment to provide the needed Leadership for Victory 2020 is unquestionable. We can and should strive to make our natural strongholds impenetrable by the NPP. A motivated, committed and relevant grassroot with an empowered youth, women and zongo is neces...
Campaign Diaries - Western Region September 16, 2018 Day 3 & 4 Day 3 of Team Betty's campaign  tour of the Western Region saw myself and my team visit Tarkwa Nsuaem, Prestea Huni Valley, Amenfi East, Amenfi West and Amenfi Central Constituencies. Aowin, Suaman, Akotombra, Bodi and Juaboso constituencies hosted team Betty on Day 4 of the campaign tour. In Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency, I met the only organizer who is a woman in the Western Region. It was heartwarmingly refreshing to see a woman achieve such remarkable heights. This is yet another remarkable feat in our quest for the empower the women and youth in our party. An empowered youth and womem front is very necessary to propel the party to victory in 2020. There should be a pragmatic paradigm shift in the party's effort to empower our youth, women and the zongos. When elected as National Chairman, I pledge to provide the needed Leadership to make the NDC attractive to the youth who comprises of mainly the f...
Campaign Diaries - Western Region September 12, 2018 Day 1 & 2 Team Betty begun the campaign tour of the Western Region by visiting Wassa East, Shama, Kwesimintin, Effia and Takoradi Constituencies on Day 1. On Day 2, my team and I visited Essikado, Mpohor, Ahanta West, Jomoro, Evalue-Gwira and Ellembelle constituencies to fraternize with the constituency executives and bring the Accessible Leadership to their doorsteps. The tour of these constituencies which are situated in the oil enclave  of the Western region gave me better perspectives of the challenges our constituencies and branch executives face in their service to our party in these areas of the Western region. My message of Accessible Leadership has been widely endorsed by the majority of these constituencies so far visited. The call for a Leadership that would give power to our branches and their membership is even more clearer and louder. The Party needs to recognise and appreciate the selfless unriring ...
Campaign Diaries - Greater Accra Region September 08, 2018 Team Betty concluded the tour of the Greater Accra Region by visiting Krowor, Ledzokuku, Ningo-Prampram, Ablekuma Central, Amasaman, Shai Osudoku and Klottey Kottey Constituencies. After visiting each one of the 34 constituencies in the Greater Accra Region, I am fully aware and reminded of the challenges our constituency and branch executives face in their service to our party in the urban and peri-urban areas of Accra. Highly populated urbanised constituencies face a different set of challenges in reaching out to their members than those in the rural environment.  These challenges still require empowerent of our youth and women to enable them fully participate in party activities. Issues facing student activism and organisation were addressed. My message of Accessible Leadership has been widely endorsed by the majority of constituencies so far visited. The call is for a Leadership that would give power to our bran...
Campaign Diaries - Northern Region Day 4, 5 & 6 October 05, 2018 The campaign tour of the Northern Region continued on Wednesday, October 3, as my team and I visited Zabzugu, Tatale, Gushegu and Karaga Constituencies on Day 4. On Thursday, November 4, we also visited Nanton, Kumbungu, Tolon, Sagnarigu, Tamale Central and Tamale South constituencies. We finally ended the tour of the Northern Region by visiting the Yapei-Kusawgu, Daboya-Makargu, Damongo, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba and Bole-Bamboi constituencies on Friday, October 5, 2018. The executives agreed with me that we need to ensure that the 2,688 branches in the region grow from strength to strength in order to retain our parliamentary seats, recapture lost ones and capture power from the superincompetent NPP government. These branches should be motivated and poised in the party's affairs in the Northern. My message of gender inclusion and leadership was emphatically received in these constituencies. They echoed the ...
Campaign Diaries - Northern Region Day 2 & 3 October 02, 2018 The campaign tour of the Northern Region continued as my team and I visited Mion, Yendi, Chereponi, and Saboba Constituencies on Day 2. We also visited Bimbilla, Wulensi, kpandai, Salaga North and Salaga South constituencies on Day 3. The constituency executives have serious challenges in accessing the branches through the inhospitable terrain they have to operate in.  The floaded roads, broken bridges and the uncompleted road works in the Northern region is unlike any other region. The 5 thematic areas of my campaign are related as each one on its own cannot give us political power. We need a Strategic and tactical Leader who understands what it takes to make good on her promise. I, Betty Mould Iddrisu, have the experience and competence to provide that kind of Leadership. Our main aim as a political party or politicians is to win political power and implement our programs and policies. To this end...
Campaign Diaries - Northern Region Day 1 September 30, 2018 Team Betty kickstarted the campaign tour of the Northern Region by visiting Bunkpurugu, Yunyo, Gambaga-Nalerigu, Walewale, Savelugu and ended the day at Tamale North constituency. We had earlier visited Yagaba-Kusori constituency during our tour of the Upper East Region via Builsa South. The constituency executives enumerated the challenges they face in their service to the party especially in accessing their branches. The visits also afforded my team and I the opportunity to experience some of these challenges first hand. This will inform my decisions with regards to these constituencies when elected as Chairperson of the NDC. The challenges of the Yunyoo constituency were just enormous and moved me to adopt the constituency. I shall be working together with the executives to alleviate the plight of the constituency. The prospects of winning the Yunyoo seat are bright and with the right strategy, we shall have an ND...
Campaign Diaries - Upper East Region Day 3 September 29, 2018 We wrapped up the campaign tour of the Upper East Region by visiting Bongo, Builsa South, Builsa North, Chiana Paga and Navrongo constituencies. We also took the opportunity to visit the Yagaba-Kusori constituency of the Northern Region. The NDC needs to jealously guard our 12 parliamentary seats out of the 15 in the Region. We must win all 15 parliamentary seats in the 2020. I was delighted to know that the regional and constituency executives of the Upper East Region are committed to this and I will lead this charge when elected National Chairperson. There are 1226 branches in the Upper East Region. These branches are the spine of the party and must be strengthened, motivated and kept relevant in order to deliver victory in 2020 and beyond. The grassroot yearns for a Leader who is sympathetic to their issues, a Leader whose doors will not be closed to them and a Leader who will listen. I pledge to  work tog...
